Narritive Poem

Where Did My Job Go?

When I first met my FRIEND
I was in a store
I paid so much for him I couldn’t pay anymore
I brought him home to play with and adore

We were, best friends for ever even when I got older
I finally got a JOB at a FACTORY store
Where they made big old boulders
I had great fun, it wasn’t in the sun
It was down in a big black hole

Work always pays of everyday
I had to pay my BILLS so my family could stay
My manager came up to me saying
I don’t need YOU any more
I have your friend to make my big blocks
Now I won't be able to buy my son any socks

No INCOME to spare
Although I didn’t DARE
To try to get back there
Because my job was in the hands of my best friend
They will be regretting that they LOST me
I was their HARDEST WORKER, but they don’t seem to care
My friend had a hard drive built in to him, with  no feelings to give
Because he was a ROBOT.

Now I have plenty of time to spare
To find a job but they are rare
Nobody wants to hire a person that gets fired

Now I admire
The one true friend of my life
Now comes the hardest part of all
Telling my WIFE
She wasn’t upset nor did she seem to care
Her eyes didn’t CROSS, although her nose didn’t FLARE
Instead she smiled
Then reached for my hand saying:
It may take awhile maybe not today or tomorrow but we will be okay

After all we have each other.
